Public Businesses: Final audit report of the CGR on the delivery of food boxes by the Regional Government of Valparaíso

Purpose of the Audit:
“The purpose of the audit was to oversee the correct execution of the contracts with the suppliers, the delegations of powers granted to the Provincial Governments and the collaboration agreements signed by the Valparaíso Regional Government, within the framework of the delivery of food and elements of cleaning to the beneficiary population, in the period between July 1 and November 30, 2020, including the review of procedures and controls foreseen for the correct distribution of the species, the validation of the beneficiaries, and the payment to the carriers responsible for the distribution of food baskets, according to predefined criteria, all in the context of the measures adopted to face the health emergency due to COVID-19 “.
Conclusions:
Among the conclusions of the report, the CGR notes that the Regional Administration did not comply with all the clauses of the contracts signed with the supplier companies, does not provide background information on the contracting conditions with one of the supplier companies, non-compliance with the rendering some municipalities, differences between the food boxes registered and those delivered to the beneficiaries, etc.
